Steppe Grey Shrike
Hi to all,

Steppe Grey Shrike, photographed at Grainthorpe Haven earlier this week, I know it's not the best perch in the world, but it will do as a record shot of what is a very rare bird to have visited our shores, thanks for looking.

Converted in DPP / Processed in CS2 ( Full frame / Cropped for comp )

Canon 1D3, 500F4IS+1.4T/c, Gitzo1325, Wimberley v2
1/1250th @ F6.3 +1/3rd E/comp iso640

Best regards

A lovely image of such a rarity! Think I would have cropped the white line from the bottom though. Well spotted and taken.

Well spotted a very nice image. Seems to be a year for rare species visiting.

Thanks for the comments guys, always appreciated :toast:

Mud slinging indeed John, I was there today and some photographers and birders were still standing in the field, trampling the farmers crop, I ever so politely asked them to vacate the field  which was met with several expletives :argue: but in the end they did return to the path  and rightly so seeing as the farmer had given us the use of his land to park our cars, I can't think of another bird that has caused so much ill feeling between birders and photograhers and I don't know why because this is such a confiding bird that will happily land between you feet to look for food !!!
