Having sat and froze for two and a half hours in the hide at the bottom of the garden today, this is the best I could come up with. I was waiting for the jays and nuthatches, they decided to descend once I had given up and gone indoors, typical!!
This chap is a little tight in the frame, but I could do nothing about that at the time; and as I haven't posted for some while.......a squirrel it is.
Canon 40D,EF300mm f/4L IS USM +1.4x,1/8 sec,ISO 1250
A small crop on rhs for composition, and a small twig removed.
Regards to all,
Fran

Hi Fran,
A little tight yes, but it's still a nice capture.

Nice but shame you didnt get all the tail in the frame.

Hi Fran,
Nits covered and it's a nice shot, I do feel however it needed a bit more wok doing to it as it looks a little soft and washed out, so had a quick play in CS2, just added +5 on contrast and saturation and added 5 rounds of USM at levels, 100, 0.2, 0.
If you want me to remove it I will.
Hope that helps
Regards
Rob

Thanks everyone for your comments.
And to Rob for the much improved mod. and kind suggestions. I am working from a new computer, and comparing the original to the uploaded version it appears I have may have some problems. The original does look the same as your version Rob as far as the contrast etc. is concerned, I will have to sort it out. Thanks once again.

Great shot but I agree with PhilH that Rob has slightly oversharpened it even though it has improved the appearance of the branch.

Thanks guys, I agree with you all re: my image and the oversharpening by Rob. I guess it's back to the drawing board for me.
I wish I didn't have the 1.4 on at the time, but as I said I was waiting for the non existent birds to turn up
