Beautiful colors. Impressionistic even. I love the reflections of the trees in the slightly disturbed water.
I've been trying to get over to Felsenthal Wildlife Preserve to capture some of the birds and cypress colors this Fall, but things have been a bit hectic of late. Thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful scene! This must have been taken back around the 3rd or 4th...by the time I got there, most of the tupelos had lost their leaves. The cypresses also have quite a bit more color here.

On the fifth I think - kind of a blur now. Did you get any more color this weekend down south Bill?

Nope, I decided the clouds and strong wind would probably limit my shooting to this morning - that's if there was any color left. Too many if's to drive 11 hours.

I like how you're getting great detail in the shadows. I think most people would have crushed the blacks and blown the highs.

The light was pretty stiff that morning and I shot around the exposure quite a bit so I could do hdr if needed - that is a single shot above from the 16-bit sensor but I may play around with the others later on when I get ready to process for the book...

I love the mixture of blues, yellows and reds in the reflections, and then the light on the cypress leaves in the background is really nice too.
