Holy Sunset, Batman!
I sure hope someone was in a good location to capitalize on what looked like an incredible sunset tonight. I pulled out of my garage to take my son's friend home and literally gasped when I saw the western sky. From overhead to the horizon the underside of the cloud layer was an orange glow. When I got home, I ran in and grabbed my G9 to at least capture some evidence of what I'd seen. This was well past peak and just minutes before the color faded. It's also a small section of the western horizon where the color was still strong.

This was one of those sunsets you hope for every time you're in the field; wish I'd been better prepared and in a better location!

You blew it, man--you should have charged full speed through the gates and up 18 miles of dirt road to the summit of PP, with rangers in hot pursuit! Thes momments are too rare to waste!

I was driving home from the Springs tonight and saw this going off over Pikes...had to pull over and just watch the show. It was amazing!

Dang, I missed this completely, was in the computer room hooking up a new 22" monitor and rearranging the system around so the new puppy can't get to things quites as easily.
Great shot and the color is Amazing.

I was in RMNP watching it set over Longs ad shooting it, it wasn't what I would call stellar, but the mountain wave clouds were awesome! I'll post a pic once I process it

Great color. Seems like that G9 (or now maybe a G10) would be a great camera to have handy for such occasions.

Yeah, last night's sunset was gorgeous! Too bad I was too busy offroading without my camera, but my colleague from Britainland took a couple shapshots of it. Nice capture of the reds, Kalin!

Kate,,,NIce image. The sunset was fantastic last night. My daughter and I watched it from my porch in West Loveland. We have a view of Meeker and Longs and I was wondering what it would be like in the park. Guess I'll have a chance to see when John post his images.

It looked pretty good from Denver as I was driving south on I-25 too. Neat colors.

Yes, I saw this too...no camera handy, but one of the nicest sunsets I've seen in a while.

Wow. I'm surprised the G9 sensor resolved the sky that nicely. Or rather, excellent exposure Kalin!
