Michigan in fall
This was shot at Bald Mountain state Recreation area south of Lake Orion in SE Michigan I used a Nikon D70s with a Sigma 70 to 300 mm lens at f9 and 1/100 sec. I liked the idea of the red leaves against the out of focus yellow leaves in the background.

Kelly,
Nice idea. Backgrounds are as important as the subject in these type of images and you sure proved it here. Nice.
I might crop a bit of the bottom and that one rogue leaf--upper right top.
Cool shot.

I think Jack has a good idea regarding cropping the bottom a tad, Kelly. The reds look nice against the yellow(ish) background.

Welcome to NPN and the Midwest forum! :wavey:

Thanks, I'll try that. It's full frame and your right about the crop, I liked the way it came out but wasn't quite happy with it. I'll crop and re-post the results.

Here's the crop. What do you think?

Much better, Kelly. I would also suggest cloning out the tiny partial leaf at the upper right.

Kelly, the contrast in colors on this are wonderful. The second post is alot better, IMHO I might even suggest cloning or cropping the leaf on the far left too along with the cloning the small leaf in the upper right corner as others suggested. :wavey:
