Grand Tetons Fall Photos
I've finally finished editing my fall photos, and thought I would share a link to my favorite images ...

http://www.jessespeer.com/gallery.php?gallery=2008fall

It was quite the challenging fall trip. Painfully bland weather (bland for photography anyway). "Not quite there" color. And the PCB assembly went bad on my mainstay lens, ruining countless shots. (I'm kicking myself for not processing with everyone else in Jackson every night!!)

Still, the Tetons are a very worthwhile destination in fall. And I had a blast just being there ... and sharing the time with many RMNP'ers. I'll be there again next year, I'm sure.

Thanks for sharing Jesse! Hard to pick out a favorite...but they're all winners in my book! Looks like I might be needing to travel up north sometime soon

Proving yet again (for the umpteenth time) that you are one of the finest photographers currently walking the planet. Truly extraordinary, visionary work.

Nope, you're right - nothing good here at all!

Seriously, if those are "bland," then I would love to have a "bland" photo trip. You obviously know how to "go with the flow" and adjust your plans to what the weather gods give you. Good job!

Umm, yeah, well... I'll go along with what Todd said.
To get these from bland photography conditions is phenomenal.
And you probably lost all your best shots, right?

A hearty THANKS for these comments, guys. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely happy with these photos. I worked my @ss off, and the results reveal the work. The lens failure was a real bummer though. A lot of my images are completely soft and worthless. When a PCB assembly goes bad on a lens, the focus confirmation might still work - as it did in my case. I had no clue. Nearly all of my close-up work was ruined. If you think your images might be getting soft for any reason, have that lens checked!

Fantastic work, Jesse! Your aspens photos are just gorgeous. Sorry to hear about the lens. From looking at this collection, you'd never know you were having equipment issues. And it was great being able to shoot a little with you. I heartily agree with Todd. Beautiful work.

Fantastic! Lots of great shots here, but I must say that "Red Hills Aspen" is unlike any fall color shot I've ever seen. "Gros Ventre Meadows" is my other favorite.

Like the others said, great gallery despite the problems! My favorite is "Radiant Autumn" with the sun beams giving it a zoom effect.

Had I seen the opening image without the post, I would've gessed it was a "Speer". Oustanding work all-around and I'm particularly happy to see the Gros Ventre stuff. Sorry to hear 'bout your lens.

Awesome job!

Inspiring collection, my friend! "Radiant Autumn" is incredible. You've given me some ideas for how to handle some of my shots and inspiration for getting my rear in gear and process that trip.
Your work continues to humble me - keep up the great work! :toast: :jump:

Beautiful colors! Really like the stark white tree against the yellow leaves.

Late to the party, and I haven't yet perused your gallery. But I had to say "wow!" - stark and ghostly, but also warm and reassuring with that background. You continue to inspire. Looking forward to seeing the others!
