I took this about a month ago at Lake Atalanta in Rogers, AR.
This is the first time I have posted on here, hope it works!

Welcome to the forum, Amanda - nice first post. I really like the fall color reflection in the water, but would like to see a little more detail in the mallard. You might also consider cropping the blown highlights at the top.
Lake Atalanta is really a great place for waterfowl pictures - I should be shooting more there myself. Local government officials are considering some big improvements to the facilities there, that should really be nice if they decide to follow through. So far it's just been talk and meetings.
BTW, it would help in the critique of your images if you would post a little information on your camera/lens etc. There is a good summary on the NPN Posting Guidelines link at the top of the page.

Hello Amanda, welcome to CSNP! Very nice first post, one gets an impressionistic feeling from this. I like Bill's suggestion to crop down from the top to eliminate some of the bright white's otherwise I like this very much. I'm looking forward to seeing many more images from you!
Don't forget to post your contact infomation in the thread at top so I can add you to our CSNP membership!

Welcome Amanda. I hope to see more of your work in the near future. I, too, am new to this forum, but have found it a good place to post images and receive constructive feedback. There are no mean spirited people here, only friends who love nature photography.

Welcome Amanda, hope to see more posts from you. I agree with Bill, crop the hot spots on the top and you will have a nice photograph.

Suggestions for improvement have already been noted, but I wanted to add that the colors and abstract pattern effect of the foliage reflected on the water is very pleasing!

Welcome to CSNP, Amanda! Good suggestion regarding the crop, overall though I like the colors and the abstract nature to the image. Like Bill I haven't been to Lake Atalanta in a long time with the camera. Maybe I need to make another visit. Nice work, looking forward to see more!
