Equipment: Canon 10D, Bogen Manfrotto Tripod, ISO 100, 35-105 Canon Lens, white balance-shade, shutterspeed and aperture unrecorded.
The image was photographed in a private garden in Northern California. I made a background layer, applied a gaussian blur
filter, and moderately increased hues and saturation.
Wonderful, Robert. The applied artistic techniques have provided a very pleasing and soft look to what normally could be some hard looking cacti.

Robert,
Beautifully done! Great color and apparent lighting. The Orton effect is heavily applied - which is a great thing in this case making this very artsy and creative. I would post this in Photo Art if you haven't already done so.

Lon, I'm relatively new to NPN. I will gladly post this to Photo Art if it's permissible. I was under the impression that the same image could only be posted to one gallery. It is also
my understanding that since replies have been posted for this image, I cannot delete it.
Thanks for the supportive compliments.'

Hey Robert,
No problemo. I wasn't suggesting that you move/delete this and you're more than welcome to post all the nature related images here in CANP - in fact, I think the restrictions for types of images are pretty much left up to the regional forums.
What I was saying is that you could <also> post this in Photo & Art because I think it would do very well and you would get some additional feedback.
Folks fairly often will post an image both here in CANP and post to other galleries at the same time like in ES&S. The only rule is 1 image per 48 hours in the main galleries and 1 image per 24hrs in the regional forums (CANP for ex.)
Robert, what Lon is suggesting and outlining is done often. In fact, the regional galleries such as CANP are a good test ground and launching pad if you will to the other NPN galleries. Basically stated, the folks here in CANP my have suggestions of adjustments to improve an image just before you actually place it on display in one or more of the other galleries. In this case your image has received more then the normal post processing of the scene and as such would no doubt fit the Photo Art category very well. As Lon also outlined, there is no need to delete an image in one gallery in order to post in another. You can run the same image in more then one gallery at a time. However, it is important to retain the right classification of an image when posting to the individual galleries.

I like the color and the comp. Pretty creative I think.

Wow, that's very creative Robert. Eye catching too. If presented well it looks pretty sellable. Although you've got my curiosity going to what it would look like in good lighting alone. Well regardless, it looks worthy of trying some more compostions.

Very cool art. It has a most painterly look to it.
