Nice photos. Takes me back to several bicycle rides through the Wichita Wildlife Refuge in my younger years. I remember the prairie dogs and Bison very well. Happily, none of the latter chose to chase after us cyclists as there are no fences!

Nice images.
Great location too for anybody in the south plains states. I go there on a regular basis and I when our camera club goes we get 30-40 folks to make it. Great scenery in the area and you can up close with bison, longhorn, elk, and prairie dogs.
Thanks for sharing.

I've always thought that the Wichita Mnts. would be an interesting place to visit. After seeing your pictures I'm even more sure of it. Do you thinkk that Winter would be a good time or would Spring and Fall be best?

You have some nice shots in your gallery. That area looks like an interesting place to visit someday.

Excellent portfolio Larry. WMWR is on my todo list and this moves it a little closer to the top.

Thanks everyone for your comments.
If one can handle the cold weather and wind winter might be a great time to visit there. Wildlife might be easier to locate and I would think there would be a larger variety of birds. Perhaps someone on the forum that has visited there with snow on the ground might provide a more definitive answer as mine is just a WAG.
