Forgive me this once as I take the liberty tonight to post a shot of mine which became my dad's favorite image. It's one of the first digital images I ever made and as an old photog himself, he loved the leading lines of the fence and sunbeams streaking through this sunrise shot.
He passed tonight at 7:23, comfortable and at peace with God. I was alone with him as he made his final journey. For 88 years he graced this earth and though a simple man he touched many lives on his earthly journey.
I think he would like this tribute. He will be dearly missed.
Thanks for everything dad!

Grover was the very best sort of man, and it was a great pleasure for me to have met him. The world is indeed a much better place because he walked here. One measure of a man is what he left behind, and no doubt his son will continue to be a living tribute to him in many ways. As I am writing this a shooting star just streaked across the northwestern sky - I'm certain it was from him - I will think of Grover with each shooting star I see from now on - no more wishes needed for him - he is already there....

My, what a beautiful tribute to your dad, Wayne...it's easy to see why this was his favorite photograph. It says a lot about life, about how we follow the long and winding road until we find our place in the sun. You and your dad were fortunate to be able to share thoughts and impressions of your work. I'm sure those thoughts and impressions will continue in one form or another...

Your tribute to a beloved father could not be more appropriate. You honor us in letting us share in your loss. Your father had a good eye for beauty. Evidently, the fruit does not fall far from the tree.
I will add you and your family to my prayers this week.
