Hi all,
Large numbers of Waxwings have arrived in the UK recently which is quite early when compared to previous years.
The light was not ideal but having never had an opportunity to photograph them before I thought I'd give it a try. The berries on this tree are rapidly disappearing, so I am not sure if there will be any left to go back and try again another day.

Thanks for looking.
C&C welcome.

Austin, lovely detail on the bird - I don't ever remember seeing one myself but maybe they stick to the East Coast and parts of Scotland. As you say, not many berries left to munch on. Cliff

Lovely shot! Nice detail and good exposure.
I spent most of last weekend trying to find some of these guys - needless to say I didn't Perhaps I'll try again this weekend!!
I'll be chuffed to get a shot half as good as yours!

Very nice shot Austin. I had a flock of 80 on the trees outside my flat this morning - and not a berry in sight! So hopefully you might get another crack at them!

Have been watching the influx of these on Birdguides hopefully some will make their way further West. Lovely crisp image in good light. Possibly a little central in the frame would have liked to see the bird slightly nearer the top of the frame and a few more berries below if that was possible.

Very nice Austin. The flocks of these are moving down the country now. Have had reports of some in the Lancaster area over the last couple of days
