This is what I was after when the other one landed in front of me. These spoonbills were flying between tidal pools as one would fill up they would fly to the next so you sort of knew which direction they would come from.

Beautiful flight shot - I love these birds (never seen one though!). Very nicely isolated against the background. Shame the far wing isn't a little higher to separate the head more, but that's minor.

Hi Colin
Nice flight shot with a good OOF BG agree with Ian's comment re. the wing/head position but this is a minor nit!

Love the colours in this, nit regarding wing/head already covered.
love the big red eye, and plenty of room for him to fly into - difficult image to fault
I love the way these guys stretch their toes out behind them when they fly, like Egrets/Herons/etc.

Hi Colin,
That's more like it! Less frightening detail!
Great flight shot! with the only minor nit mentioned!

Thanks for all your comments.

I think they are resident but not quite sure I will see if I can find out. They tend to be in isolated pockets around Florida I've seen them mainly in the south Marco, Ding Darling, and the Everglades the furthest north I have seen them is Merritt Island on the east coast.
Hope this helps
