Fieldfare with berry.

Ex Comp -0.7EV.
Bean bag from the car.
Cropped to vertical as I felt it suited this image better.

Hi Major
Really appealing image of one of my favourite winter visitors. Echo David's comment about the timing.
Cheers,
Chris

Great pose and position in the frame, berry makes it just right, nicely lit too.

Not sure about the blur, there also appears to be a strange halo around the bird directly below its beak?

Cant see it Tim on my monitor. Only thing is a bit of bright foliage if thats what you mean.
Got my X ray specs on but no can see.
Wait while you get a strange halo around your head then you would start to wonder. ( Even bigger grin)

Hi Major,

That's beautiful, really beautiful!
Wouldn't mind some X-Ray Spec here though if you have a spare pair! :jump:

Nice one Major. Just beat me to it ! Got some of these and redwings on a hide set up yesterday !
There is a white line around the breast of the bird below the beak but what it is i don't know.
Maybe downsize artifacts ?
(Thats a big word )
Cheers

that's a beauty Major, great subject and composition. I can't see any sign of a halo or a white line. It's a bit worrying how we all see different things, presumably due to different monitors? I don't like the fact that a shot that looks perfect on my monitor might have halos and white lines on someone else's

As already said Major, captured at JUST the right moment - very nice :wavey:

The OoF edges work well for me - frames the subject.

If I look really hard there is a feint white line just on the breast edge but it looks more like compression to me than anything else

Major

A very nice shot looks fine on my monitor I agree with Matt different monitor set ups have variations.

Super shot - I like everything about it! Not seeing any strange aberrations on my monitor.

lol theres definitely a funny line/halo around the front of its breast I can see it on 3 different monitors, saw it immediately. It looks like the edge of where a feathered lasso tool has been or something.. (Viewing on a calibrated EIZO 2410,)

Still a great shot though, I didn't mean to make a big deal of it, just thought i'd mention it as it seemed quite apparent to me!

Great shot with lovely light. I see the offending white line - note sure if I would have if it hadn't been pointed out.

Love the way the bird is framed by the oof foliage. A super light too.

beautiful colours and setting, very envious can't get the hang of these

Love the subject and berry and the almost vignetted edges but the right hand side is a bit too straight and doesn't gel with the less blurred section in the middle at the bottom. Realise you can't do much about the lack of closer foliage in that gap though

Nice Major, saw about 60 of these this morning, stripping haws from the trees. Sadly too far away, but those are the breaks.

I can see the halo, but not sure if its sharpening or the down sizing.
