I am looking to add a shopping cart to my website (actually I am completely redoing my website and adding the shopping cart). For the software I am using to create the site, Rapidweaver, Google Checkout seems to have a far better add-in interface package done by a third party than what is available for PayPal. I know I can add buttons for PayPal and link directly, but that is too much work for setup and adding new images.

I don't know much about Google Checkout. Is it as easy as PayPal for a customer to use? Can customers use credit cards without signing up for Checkout? Anyone have experiences either as a merchant or customer with Google Checkout you can share? Any info would be appreciated.

Why not just get a merchant VISA account? I personally don't have a Paypal account since I cancelled it. They didn't stand behind their guarantees. I would use anything else but them. Not sure how many people have a Google account. Another one to consider might be Amazon's.

I use Pay Pal on my site. It is the same basic template for most of my pages so I just insert and replace a few lines of information and that's it.

Pay Pal is by far more accepted by customers than Google Checkout.

For what its worth I'm trying to use Google Checkout more and ween myself from PayPal. I get a lower transaction fee with Google Check out since I have an adwords account. I also like the no-nonsense sweep and clear of income to my bank account. It's a waste of my time to request the transfer of money and wait 5 or 7 days for it to happen. I have always hated that they charge you for the faster transfer of funds. Personally I don't think you can go wrong with either, but these days my preference is Google Checkout.
