Bighorn Sheep
Captured this bighorn near Dumont this morning. Looks like he has been through some tough battles.

Thanks for looking.

Great set of horns on this guy. He does indeed look like he's used those horns in battle a time or three.

There's something about the eyes in this picture that is bugging me.

Thanks for the comment. Did not do anything to the eyes, maybe it is just the odd-shaped iris!

Nice shot w/the "Bigma." I use one of those too....

Didn't think you did - I was just commenting on how they bugged me out. The way they bulge, the odd iris, lack of catchlight, and the fact that the light hits both eyes full on while leaving the right side of the face in shade all combine to make it disconcerting - it goes against my preconceptions, I guess.

Now that's a manly Bighorn with big, roughed up horns and a muscular build. Wonderful portrait.

Nice Ram,,,He's been in a few fights the tip of his horns are broomed off. Been seeing some nice sheep in the Big Thompson Canyon this year. Nothing wrong that I can see with the eyes.

Awesome Dan. Looks like this guy is a survivor. Those horns are pretty impressive. Nice find.

Gorgeous shot Dan! As far as his facial expression, looks like maybe he has been in one too many head butting contests.

Great shot, Dan! I love the grass sticking out of his mouth. I've gotten pretty close to these guys in the South St. Vrain when they walk right up to your car. I've always thought that they had kind of a crazy, blank stare going on, just like this guy.

Nice capture here, Dan. I like the simple color palette. The shadow at the bottom tugs at my eye a little, but an otherwise stellar shot, as usual.

Very powerful. Those horns are amazing! I am always very impressed with your wildlife posts, and am amazed at how close you get. Nice work as always Dan.
