Canon EOS 1Ds MKII, 600mm f4 IS, 1.4x conv, G1548, G1321, f5.6, 1/250, ISO 400, slight crop after levelling and bit of work to lift it from underexposure.
Hi All,
Found this one whilst looking through my recent Osprey shots, it was pretty funny that the Osprey would dive into the water sometimes very close to these Mallards scattering them in all directions, on this occasion it dived in a bit furthur away, so the Ducks sat and watched trying to work it all out

Hi Rob
Nice environment shot in what looks like difficult lighting!

As stated above, not an easy shot but a great moment.

Great moment captured!
Doesn't do much for me from a photographic perspective, as the light was against you and its a very distance shot.
Nevertheless i'd kill to get some fishing ospreys at some point!

The quality of the picture doesn't matter too much - what is remarkable is that you came across an osprey that was bold enough (or hungry enough) to dive near ducks. Normally they would wait until the ducks were well away. And your timing was spot on!

I think you can crop both sides to advantage, in order to increase the emphasis on the Osprey/ducks.
Did well to capture the interaction between the species.
