Sunrise on factory butte from a couple of weeks ago. I just wish that there were some clouds in the sky.

Clouds or no clouds, I like the light and the subject a lot! Have you considered maybe cropping out the grasses in the foreground? I realized that my eye was struggling to dart between them, the butte, and the moon.

Love the soft gradient. This is quite different from many of the factory butte images I've seen where the butte is fire red, and I like that.

Clouds would certainly make this a very different photo, but their absence here works just fine. A very striking image.

The gradient sky and that moon more than make up for a lack of clouds.
I agree with the cropping advice.
Losing the bits of grass is no big loss, and makes for a more 'even' scene from bottom to top.

What John said! Very nice!

Great image Randy!! I love the soft colors. Like everyone said cropping the tips of grass that are in the very front of the image will help. Nevertheless this is a great image...regards, Rajeev. :toast:

Really like the pastel colors. Clouds would have most likely blocked the moon. etc on the grass cropping.

This is really nice. I will echo John's comments as well.

Great color and a bold comp - but the FG vegi's take away from the strongest elements.

Looks great. Love the desolate feel.

Beautiful colors here and I like the stark but inviting feel. I'm on the fence about the grasses. Eliminating them yields a cleaner comp, but I think they add some beneficial complexity and depth to the foreground. I'd probably keep them if it were mine. Nice shooting!

I like it though I would probably crop hte grasses. I hope you got some shots with some incredible alpenglow (if the conditions permitted), as that sucker can really light up.

Thanks everyone for your honest feedback. I'll try cropping it and see what happens. Yes, Jeff I did get some with the first rays of light, however, I thought that the light was better in this one.
