A nice little shot, works for me. Don't know why, as I rarely like shots where you are looking up the ****, it just has something.

I think the eye contact makes this image work well. Agree with Ray that I normall am not a fan of images of animals at this angle, but this one works. I like the background as it gives a hint of the animals habitat without drawing my eye away from the subject.

Nice, I like the background and the angle of the ground. The eye contact is great, but for me the pose seems a little awkward. The light is nice too, and the colours give it a lovely warm feel.

Many thanks Andy for your input and valued comments which are very much appreciated.
Agree with you about the bokeh of the 600 but doubt if I could handhold.

At the end of the day the animal could have been stood on its head but whilst you have the gaze of the animal and you can see its eyes it makes for a decent image. It holds the attention.

Many thanks Major for your comment - will try to remember that concept for future shots.

Nice shot Tom, could work with quite a few captions. Looks to me as if the deer is asking if you are following him

Thanks for looking
Can't understand why that should be (not that anything on this forum surprises me anymore
So Tom - nice comp and eye-contact with the subject
Little to pick fault with in my book - though the BG would be a lot smoother with a true 600mm
