A frosty morning...
...along Rock Creek, just below the lake, grasses and rocks.

I tried with polarizer but it cut too much of the blue/silver sheen I liked on the water.

Well, I certainly like the print I made more than the pic here, so much more detail to view, the frozen water near the larger rock, the ice crystals at the base of the reeds and the water has a beautiful silver/blue sheen in the print. Oh well.

Reno, heck looks like the no polarizer idea worked just fine here and provided the look and effect you were going for too.
Your second comment seems to happen to all of us at times, maybe even more so for us film scanners with all the anomalies we run into.

Not having the immediate wow factor, I think this is as you say, one of those images that is best viewed as a large print, so you can take in those subtle details. I do like the arrangement of rocks, grasses and water... it has a nice balance to it. Nice work!

Hey Reno,

I have no doubt that the print looks great as I'm sure the ice and frost show up nicely. I really like the arrangement of the grasses and the two rocks. Even still, the web version looks nice to me.
