Beautiful John, really beautiful..

Such an excellent pose and expression.

A lot of the bear shots i've seen tend to be more "sterile captures" but this is in a different league.

nice high contrast shot. To echo Tim, excellent pose and expression.

well captured

Lovely use of shadow and light John :wavey:

For me it begs a lot of empty black space to the left 'a la DPS' - but "as is" it's a striking image - nice!!

Great light on this bear John. I am not sure about the o.o.f blob in the left hand corner.

Hi Folks, thanks for your comments. When I looked at my settings I could not believe it but it is right. The shot I took 4 mins. before was 1/80 sec. F5 ISO 1000. I was shooting bears in a wood from a hide at 7.30pm and the light was very poor then I noticed this bear further back with a shaft of light on it and luckily I swung my lens round quickly and got the shot only one picture and the light was gone. :toast:

Excellent lighting, exposure and comp. A suberb image, you certainly made the most of your brief opportunity.

Exquisite shot, the lighting is superb and the pose is fantastic. My one nit is the out of focus thing in the bottom left, you could, dare I say it, clone it out, it wouldn't need too much really just the lighter areas and blending at the edge. Then it would be perfect!

Well seen, and well taken!!

Absolutely amazing shot.

Well done. I agree about the left corner but that's quite easy to solve I think.
