Canon 10D, Canon 100 mm macro lens, Bogen Manfrotto Tripod, White Balance-shade, IS0 100, shutter speed and aperture unrecorded.
I photographed this Dutch Iris several years ago in my garden. In its unopened state I was attracted by its color and lines.

Robert,
I like the colors. This is kind of an abstract image which I don't do much of. It almost looks like a butterfly.
That 100 macro is a very sharp lens. Hey, I thought I was the only one still shooting with my 'old' 10D. While I am ready for an upgrade the old camera takes better pictures now then when I first bought it 5+ years ago.

Thanks for the compliment, Derek. Your 10D hasn't improved in the last 5+ years, but
I'll bet that you have.

Robert,
Love the colors here - especially the colors and soft focus of the background. The diffused lighting really helps bring out the colors as well. Very nice macro.

Hey Robert, pretty nice image and composition here. I like the vibrant colors too. I like the softness of the background like Lon has stated.
Here is my 2 cents, I'd experiment some more with these if there in the back yard next early spring. Have you played with the Orton effect ever? If not you can find it doing a google search. The effects vary from web viewing to print viewing. This could be your web sharpening but the middle part of the Iris seems not as sharp as is in your RAW file. THese shots look really nice when that one point of sharpness is surrounded by the soft focus.
