There were so many excellent images in the fauna gallery this past week that I had a tough time choosing just a single pick. Ultimately I settled on Matt Wilson's beautiful animalscape simply titled "Sparring". Matt's moody image was clean and uncluttered, beautifully composed, and well-timed.

Honourable mentions (and those who made my choice difficult!) go to Pete Bengeyfield for his North American classic "Bison and Tetons"; Marcel van Oosten's beautiful "On the Run" and Julian Cox's compelling "Walking with Cheetahs - I".

Thanks to all who posted images and comments - I look forward to the viewing all the images of the coming week!

Thanks Brad - I really like seeing what else was considered by the moderators. Especially in weeks I don't have much time to browse the galleries myself...

This is a good example of "value added." Reading why an image was selected is an excellent learning tool for everyone.

Brad, good choice, and thanks for taking the time to explain the selection and mentioning the "honorable mentions".
