Something different from the coast. Your comments are most appreciated.
1Ds III, 16mm, several blends for various pieces, exposures 1-20 seconds at f/18.

Love the way your eye is drawn right through the frame, Marc, as well as the contrasting warm/ cool color palette. I also like the reflection of light on the cliffs, as well as the subtle granular texture of the sand under the misty water in the left foreground.

Adamus, have you sold you soul to the Devil or something? I mean take a break! How the hell did you find this scene and then happen to be there with that red/orange sky?
You're not really human, are you?

Joseph took the words out of my mouth regarding lines and the palette. It sort of grabs you on first blush, but I don't think it stands with your best work IMHO.

Mark, we were at this location on Sunday...
This is pretty nice Marc!

You mean we might not be human either?

Yeah, this one's not far off the beaten path. I've stood here 100 times, as it's near home for me. I'd never seriously thought to shoot it though. Seal Rocks has so much to offer, and this was a very difficult one to pull off. That's one thing I like about going back to places you've already shot many times though - you can feel free to experiment as much as you want, even at times when there's a great sunset going on. I had no pressure to capture anything else, so I gave it a go. I'm glad some of you like it. It's different at least. I like to post more of the 'experimental' type stuff over on this forum, as you know.

This has a real fire and brimstone feel to it - from the rocks surrounding. Nice as always. I like the soft water textures to juxtapose the hard rocks surrounding it. The sky is wild! Keep shooting. John

Really works for me.... Talk about powerful!!

I really like it, Marc. The cool tones of the water contrast nicely with the warm glow from the sunset. All the little highlights on the rocks really gives this the depth it needs. As always, great work!

I like it as well, like everyone else has been saying the contrasting warm and cool tones are very nice. I also like how the water is like a trail that leads the eye up into the red sky.

Going to try out a new form based cretique to keep me on track when looking at the pictures here in the forum.
1.Composition: I would look at the shot and love it for the other peices, and look again and somthing would wisper in my ear that somthig is off. After a while, the "right up the center" composition (at least for me) is the only thing holding me back on this shot.
2.Exposure: Perfect as usual.
3.Colors/Post Processing: All Spot on...good use of cool and warm aspects.
4.Emotive aspect: I like this it tells the story quite well of this unique "Alley Way" the sea and land have created.

this is cool marc, i surely would not think of the coast, almost seems like some canyon in a surreal place, that is very cool.

I like the enormous canyon feel this has, something from Lord of the Rings.

Pretty damn cool!

It's totally a personal preference, I know, but the constricted narrow view is less appealing to me.

Mark,
I really like the way you catch certain colors and lines in your images. The longer exposures and the GND filters along with your post processing is a cut above the rest just for starters.. I like this image from the foreground lighting to the background lighting... lots to think about nice image.
