Sorry I've been mostly MIA since...oh, June or so. I've been insanely busy and over the past couple of months I've been out of town roughly 3/4 of the time. Things have finally slowed down enough for me to catch my breath and should remain pretty calm (he said) through the winter.
Here's a shot from early October of this year at Red Jack Lake, Hiawatha National Forest in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I've spent parts of four weeks in the fall in the UP over the past six years and been to Red Jack countless times...the sky was particularly cooperative on this morning.

Kerry, nice to see you alive and kicking! The clouds here are really, really nice, the color is really, really, really nice, and the reflection on this make this really, really, really, really nice! Overall, this is a stellar image! Welcome back!
Since Mitch used up all the "R"s I'L just say it is a great image

Wonderfully captured Kerry. It isn't often that fall colors play a supporting role to clouds.

Way Cool!!! I like how the vanishing point is slightly to the left of center. Reflections, clouds, colors...I hope this is going on your wall.

Wonderful composition and colors, Kerry! Minor nit...it appears the image is tilted to the left..otherwise...excellent capture!

Ditto to all of the above compliments. I made one trip in the fall to the UP of Michigan but never had the good fortune to see something like this. This is a real jewel.
Toni, I know it looks tilted, but it's an optical illusion. The shoreline on the right is receding from the camera's point of view. The shoreline on the left is doing the same. Both are receding, in the direction of the center of the frame. The right-hand shoreline is much longer, however, giving the appearance of a slight tilt.
Sweet - I long for skies like that! Nice job Kerry!

Absolutely amazing!!! Incredible picture. I love the fluffly puffs of clouds in the water. Great job and a keeper! This should earn you some sales. Good luck!!!
