The first 5D2's were delivered today to folks who pre-ordered at Kenmore Camera in Washington!
The pre-orders are being filled first, so those of us who haven't ordered yet will be waiting, possibly until January. Ugh. Having sold my 5D in September, I just picked up a 10D cheap on Ebay to hold me over. Was starting to go bonkers...

I pre-ordered from Wolf Camera, they have informed me they have received the camera/24-105 lens kit pre-orders from Canon but Canon hasn't shipped just the body pre-orders yet.

I've been hearing that a LOT, from literally all over the world. Some dealers in the UK have been pulling the lenses and selling them separately... I got that from somebody who lives in London and saw it at the dealer. Wild.

Canon has shipped some body-only units, but apparently in very limited quantities.

Update - got a call yesterday saying my camera has shipped (they gave me a tracking number) and I should have it by the end of the week. Woo-hoo!

Excellent! I've gotten several emails from folks this week saying the same thing, so Canon is finally starting to crank them out to dealers. Last night at 7:28pm I got an alert that B&H in NYC had the 5D2 w/24-105mm in stock for general public on their webpage, and sure enough it was there! Forty-two minutes later they were all gone and the webpage listed it as Arrival in December again. This 5D Mark II is like throwing chum to the sharks. You'd never know this was a recession when tens of thousands of $2700 cameras can't be kept in stock!
