There were some amazing images in there! It was really tough to choose. Any chance you can post the scores each image received as well as the name of the photographer who took the image? Thanks!

Congratulations everyone. All the images presented were great.

I'm not so sure I'd want to see the score...might hurt my feelings

I suppose they could just list the scores for the top 20 images, that way none of the rest of us has to feel bad.

Congratulations to all. There are some fantastic images this year.

Thanks a lot for the votes and congrats to everyone, these are all amazing images! Now it's time for winter photography.

every one of those shots is a winner IMO, how you all judged this makes my head hurt to even think about it!

Congrats to everyone,
Some incredible photos to choose from. I'd be happy having any one of them hanging on a wall in my house.

A BIG Congrats to all the winners. Very Excellent work by all!!
Another vote to see the vote totals.

It was indeed an incredible collection! Congratulations the winners and everyone else. There were a whole bunch of winners in the group by my eye. It would indeed be interesting to see the top 20 or so by the vote totals.
Posted by Grant Collier on November 28, 2008 at 2:39 PM
Congrats to the winners! I'd also like the see the top 20 vote totals (don't show all of the vote totals, though...I don't want to know that my image received 0 votes! )
Thanks to everybody. A real surprise for me to see one of mine in the top three. I have been hoping for winning one of these things for the past several years. It is a real honor among the collection that we had.

Well done, all. Thanks for taking the time to submit and create such a huge contest to everyone!

Many, many awesome images in this years contest. Congrats to the winners!!
I think vote totals would be interesting as well...

All the images were outstanding.

I picked two of the 3 runners up but as has been stated all the shots were amazing Thanks for the beautiful show that I missed this year. I'd like access to number of votes received in future contests, either public or private. I think it would be interesting to know how your images fared.
I gotta be honest with you all. I am not comfortable releasing the vote tallys. I am just really afraid of hurting somebody's feelings. I have seen the numbers and images I thought were very strong (IMHO) have no votes and likewise for images (IMHO) I didn't see as strong with lots of votes. I would like to see us have a greater number of 'honorable mentions' like maybe add another 6-9. But honestly people do you want to see raw nunbers?

Posted by Roger Rouch on November 29, 2008 at 8:31 PM
Rich, I'm in agreement on the raw numbers. Like Grant, I don't know if I want to see my zero votes. There were so many nice shots, it would be interesting to see a few more of the runners up, though.
Richie, I agree that putting out vote totals is problematic. But let's please see some more runner ups. For what it's worth, fellow non-winners, none of my picks made the top six. Not to say the winning shots aren't great, which they are, but there were some terrific and unconventional images in there.
Also, could we see the photographer's name on all the images?
Posted by Erik Stensland on November 29, 2008 at 9:19 PM
Richard, I think the raw numbers on the top 20 would be fine and not hurt anyone's feelings. I find it fascinating to see what photographer's like and must say that all the images regardless of whether they were chosen as someone's top three images or not, does not at all detract from the excellent images we saw this year. It really was hard to pick.

Congrats to everyone.
I agree with Erik. At least I think it would be nice to see a "top 20" with or without vote totals since it looks like we had the largest amount of submissions this year and it is interesting to see where diffierent images ranked.

Rich, if you're uncomfortable posting vote numbers publicly (and I can see why you would be), why not accept private e-mail requests? That person should be able to handle the results if they are asking for it.
That is the exact suggestion that Veronica suggested to me at dinner tonight when I told her about this. Let me check with Rene but I think that is a good idea.

Thanks for posting the photographer's names and the "Top 21" Rene & Rich. You guys rock.
It is great to see the names associated with some of these images. Again, this was really some amazing work!

Thanks for posting the totals, since it does allow all of us to see how individual images rank. Thus giving us some incite into what the market might like too.
Posted by Rene Pirolt on December 2, 2008 at 1:00 AM
Michael – sorry, but for reasons beyond my control I have not been able to dedicate as much time to this site as I would like. I just finished updating the page to show the photographers names below the thumbnails.
