eagle and nest
This guy was hard to get close to, i had tried several times but he would move out further from the nest towards the river, yes they have eagle eyes.
Finally had to settle for this distant shot cropped by half.
I think they are a little shook and watch everything along the river because its duck season and alot of gun fire. Later on in january there will be hundreds of them and they seem to be not as nervous.

canon 40d tamron 200-500 set all the way out.

f/6.3 iso 400

Wally, nice shot! I've tried shooting the eagles in January along the Mississippi at Alton, IL and I know what you mean about them moving constantly. Nice find with the nest included.

Nice catch. Glad to see your post was wondering where you had been. I can hardly wait till they get back here in Jan so I can watch them.

Thanks for sharing, Wally. Soon as winter settles in here, the Eagles will be making their appearance along the river, too.

Havent been able to shoot much lately,, my young photography buisness has been a little busy with a couple weddings , some anniversary partys and a couple 90th birthday partys.
Naturally my cross country driving comes first as #1 source of income, but i love photography. Some day maybe it will be the other way around, i just need some more experience shooting.
