New hide set up in the local wood, seems to be working quite well

Nice great tit Joe, and well positioned in the frame. For some reason "head on " shots of smaller birds always look a bit odd. Thats the way they are though.

very nice background although, like John, I'm never a huge fan of front-on bird shots. A nice shot in all other regards though.

looks like you are struggling for light too, i have the same problem at my station with not enough sun coming in so have to move it.
you certainly got his attention in this shot, good exposure under the circumstances.

Quite like the pose here, makes a good change from the usual take on these kinds of birds. Looks like you have the background sorted too
Any practical tips and suggestions on picking sites for this kind of thing? I'd always be expecting to find the place trashed or burned down.

thats happend twice at other sites, this is a spot patrolled by a ranger who i have known for a while and as it is used for shooting half of it is private
i have four feeders up on trees, and various stakes next to most of them, just waiting for the nutthatches and willow tit to get used to it

Great BG and detail - only nit would be the fact that it's a head-on shot - nice shot Joe
