First snow......
if you can call it that. Here in central Kansas, we woke up to a light dusting of snow. Unfortunately, I had to travel to my parents to help load a moving truck, so it was noon when I finally got a chance to sneak out and shoot what was left of the snow. The historical marker commemorates Clyde Tombaugh who discover the now non-planet Pluto and grew up outside of town. Nothing special about the photo, just a chance to sneak out for a couple minutes of shooting.

The text of the marker plus additional information on Clyde Tombaugh can be found at http://tombaugh.heartland-images.com/ . This is a page I made many years ago. I took the photo with a Kodak 110 camera at the unveiling of the marker. I was 11 :) and remember being in awe that a famous person would come to our tiny farming community.

I also took the chance to check the diffraction effect for myself with the 50D at f/8, f/11, f/16. I was amazed at the difference in sharpness, with the f/8 clearly being better than the other 2 settings. I can post an image if any one is interested in seeing the difference for themselves.

It's snowing here in Kansas City this morning as I write this. The ground is covered but it won't be an issue for the streets, it's 33 degrees. I'm looking forward to the white stuff and how it gives the earth a pure, pristine look if only for a few hours or days.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday! Enjoy the weekend! :wavey:
