On her way to breed.
I watched this female come bouncing across the flooded marsh on her way to the rookery, she was coming straight for me so I got down flat and took some shots of her splashing towards me. Eventually she got way too close to take pictures, had a rest for a minute then carried on her way.

Very nice Tim, love the "flying" bits of sand. Well exposed and the eyes are great too!

Really cool Tim. For a moment the foreground vegetation looked like big splashes which really emphasised the movement (and left that lasting impression even once I'd realised what they were)

Cheers - You can tell by the less pronounced slightly smaller nose and facial features, the bulls do generally look a lot larger and rougher.

Seals will often display the whites of their eyes when panicked, I wonder what got her going. I expect the fact that she saw you had something to do with it. She is a big girl, did she have a pup already..?
Nicely captured but those eyes tell me a lot about it's behaviour.

Cheers Brett.
I have no idea, I watched her coming from about 150yds away, she kept stopping for a rest then carrying on towards me in a perfectly straight line until she got around 5ft from me where she sat for a while before carrying on. I'm not sure whether she was heavily pregnant or whether she was going back to the rookery to find her pup.
