Common Blue
I've been looking back at a few shots from the summer and realised I quite like this one. It's a Common Blue on Bird's Foot Trefoil (I think, I'm never 100% certain of plants). Normally I would think the surroundings are a bit cluttered but I thought it provides a nice natural setting. Feel free to disagree

Sigma 150, f9, 1/320, ISO 400.

All C+C welcomed.

Lovely shot, Matt. Even though it was not a good summer it is nice to be reminded of warmer times ............. Cliff

Hello MATT.

Love enviro shots when they work and this works really well.

Nice colour and setting with very nice detail on the flower and butterfly.

Hi Matt

I love it - the enviro works really well in this image as there is nothing strong to detract from the main subject!

I think the uniform green colours stop it being cluttered leaving the stems and leaves to create the environmental setting nicely. Works well for me, very nice

Super use of DOF and the detail on the BF itself is great. A great use of the insect in its environment and an image that is almost all encompassing. Well seen and executed.
