I fully intended to go to Donna Nook yesterday, but after the trials and tribulations over there of late and an uninspiring forecast of little wind and fog, myself and El Guido opted for landscaping in the Peak.

Trying to walk up Mam Tor in -6C and the pitch dark is not funny  - but the view was worth it :jump:

This is shot straight up the valley looking out over Castleton.

The chimney stack is that of the Hope Cement works - after the "clone wars" I thought I'd best leave it in 'cos if it wasn't there someone here is bound to know it should be

D2Xs
14-24mm Nikon
ISO 100
1/25th @ f16 (yes there is a bit of diffraction..)
PP Bibble Pro and CS3

Thanks to El Guido for the company and Tom W for the chips

Cheers for looking :toast:

Your larger image looks great Andy the limiting size here does not do the picture justice.

Love this Andy. Really needs to be seen big. Maybe a touch too dark

Hi Andy,

Very very nice. Well worth the effort of getting there, If it's anything like getting up to Alport Castles, I know how horrendous that is

Regards

Hi Andy

I like to see a man prepared to suffer for his art!
Well worth the effort to get such an atmospheric capture. Don't know what features were to the right but I'd have liked to have seen a tad more of the ridge included, just to add a little more balance to the shot. I think you could possibly lose a little of the sky too. Very minor nits.

Cheers,
Chris

that's an excellent shot Andy, really top notch IMO. I love atmospheric shots like this. The lighting and colours are great.

(I think I might have been tempted to clone the chimney. )

Very nice Andy, that's some misty morning! Like the little puff of steam/smoke coming out of the chimney stack

Have to agree that this small image does not do the picture justice.. The larger version is stunning and what a beautiful time of day and indeed well worth every effort.. Castleton is a cracking place and this has inspired me for some future opportunities.. Many thanks.

Hello Andy

IMHO I think this is one of your best Landscape shots you have, a real belter.
