Wildflowers, California
I had fun manipulating this image in post processing. I do recall
saturating quite a bit. Other than that I don't remember what else I did. Perhaps someone can help me with a flower ID. I've checked
all of my wildflower guides as well as trying to get an identification on line. The flowers were located in Mariposa County,
CA at an elevation of approximately 1200 feet in the foothills of
the western part of the Sierra Nevada Range.

Canon 10D
Canon 35-105 Lens
shallow depth of field

I thank you in advance for your comments.

I like the way this turned out, Robert. The colours and background pattern is rather interesting. Sorry, can't help with ID.

Robert,

Another very creative image. I really like the color combination and what you did with the processing. If you hadn't already, I would also recommend posting some of these in Photo & Art - only because you'll get a wider audience.

Sorry, but can't help you with the ID.

Robert, I would truly be hard pressed to figure out what type of flower you have here even with some field guides after the post processing effects. However, maybe someone else who has a much keener eye will come along and can make it out. All I can say as I enjoy your finished work on the scene and it really heightens the colors throughout.

Hi Robert, looks like Spanish lavender to me. We grow it in the garden around these parts. Nice processing for a unique look. Ken S

Thanks, Ken, I thought it was some kind of lavender.
