Even though I have been under the weather of late with a cold I decided to get out for a few hours yesterday to one of my favourite sites (Knockadoon Head, East Cork). I was rewarded with the company of this female merlin, a short-eared owl and a hen harrier all in the same feild of stubble.

Nice work getting the Merlin! Sounds like you had fun with the harrier and the SEO all at the same time!
Not sure about the big red ball, it really draws my eye off the Merlin!

Red-Danger! maybe would have waited until she took off from his post although it must have been lovely to be around at the right time.
