Kanopolis Lake
The hiking trails at Kanopolis Lake are one of my favorite places to photograph. This is a photo I took last Tuesday while hiking there with a friend. It was absolutely dead still that evening and I was really looking forward to the evening light, but some clouds moved in late and the light disappeared much faster than I was hoping for. All in all I can't complain, I'll take a hike to the office any day!

Comments and suggestions welcome. Thanks!

Hi Scott, welcome to CSNP. I just checked out you web site.. you've got a lot of fantastic stuff there.

I love the mood of this shot; it's nicely composed with pleasant late evening colors. One suggestion I can make on the technical side is that the photo appears to be using quite a bit of jpeg compression. NPN lets you submit files up 200 KB, so you should be able to use a fairly high jpeg quality setting.

Thanks for sharing! :wavey:

Scott: Perhaps not a knock your socks off sunset but I like it very much as is. Just enough details in the shadows and I like teh activity in the sky. Very nicely done. >=))>

The subdued tones of this sunset image give one a peaceful sense. You've done a good job controlling the elements of a busy scene. I particularly like the "S" curves of the water in mid frame. BTW, good work on your site too Scott.

Welcome to CSNP Scott. I like the muted tones you have captured, looks like a quite evening and sets the mood nicely.
