Another nice pool shot John, a bit more eye contact would have helped. The exposure looks very good so that flash set-up is working well.

Hi John
Wish the bird had turned a little more - but hey I haven't seen many images of these bathing!

Thanks.
Certainly better than nothing.

He'd have broken a leg if he'd jumped in a pool up here today! I love these pool shots and this is another great one. Agree it would have been nice if he'd turned a little.

Ah ha I thought it would turn around for you . Lovely shots John. I don't think I've ever seen a redwing bathing. Think the last picture may benefit from just a bit more contrast in the midtones.

I have enjoyed looking at both shots John and indeed enjoy all of your 'pool-side' photography. The latter image looks a bit flat on my monitor and possibly green when compared to the original post... Coul dbe the monitor but the first post look fine..

John the whole image has a green cast to it.
Second bird much better.

Very nice!! I like the eye contact in the second, but i also like the first as his tail is spread and hair is a little punky. Looks like he enjoyed his bath!
I agree that the second looks a bit green on my (uncalibrated) monitor.

Just to echo Brett - the second image but it seems a little flat compared with the first. Sure its nothing that can't be fixed and I much prefer it compositionally

Thanks all.
I never liked the second one anyway- too clinical for me. My wife said the colour looked OK when I asked her before I posted, so she's as colour blind as I am!! I can see the green now.
never mind - good record shot
