According to some other websites the price of the new Nikon is US$ 7999.99, roughly £5200.

According to Warehouse Express the pre-order price is £5499.00.
I reckon it'll come down by April/May by at least £1000 to 1500.

I'll have 5.... I'm happy with the 2x and 700...

I think most people are suprised at the cost but guess they looked at the 1D3, No doubt in 6 months time they will release a D800X

Agree with Dave. Nikon will almost undoubtedly release a 5d 2 lookalike (D800/D700x or whatever).
The D3x does seem expensive but when I remember my first 1Ds body - £7200 from London Camera Exchange in Lincoln, perhaps it isn't No doubt it will come down pretty rapidly as all kit inevitably does

I thought Nikon wasn't in for the pixel race! The D3X only has extra pixels’ that is anything to write home about! If I need a Full Frame anytime soon then I'd go for the D3 or D700 depending on my immediate needs!
However if Santa put one in my stocking I wouldn't whinge at all!
Any takers!!!
