I have just installed CS4. I have 2 questions.

1. If i look under programmsm i can see CS 4 64 bit and CS4, so in fact 2 programms? Why is that?

2. Photokit sharpener, i cant see it in CS4 64 bit BUT can see it in the other CS 4. Is that maybe because Photokit sharpener is not 64 bit compatible? SO i suppose that if i work on an image in 64 bit and want to sharpen it, i have to open it in the "standard CS4"????

Many thanks

1) 64-bit has as few extras that will only work on a 64-bit platform
2) PixelGenius is working on a 64-bit version of the plug-in - so shouldn't be too long before we can downloaded it!

Under Windows, Windows 32 bit and windows 64 bit programs have to be created (compiled) as two separate programs - so you'll see two separate CS4 executables. If you're running a 64 bit OS such as XP64 or Vista64, then you can run either of the two executables. If you're only running 32 bit windows (Std XP/Vista) then you can only run the 32 bit program.

As Paul mentioned - not all add-ins will be 64 bit ready at present and need to be recompiled/recreated especially, so you may find you still need to stick to the 32 bit version of CS4 for the moment.

FWIW, Adobe are also shipping both 32/64bit versions with lightroom too.

Before you bin/uninstall your previous version of PS, check that all your saved actions work in CS4 too - Adobe have changed some commands between versions and that can lead to some Actions breaking.
