Mrs Redpoll I presume?
1D2n, 600mm f4 is x1.4, 1/250s, f5.6, iso 640

After all the positive comments from yesterday, and the issue about the bottom half of the image, I thought I would post another. Not sure if the bottom is any different no matter how often I look. I think it must just be shallow DOF due to 840mm wide open. Both images were taken from the same spot, seconds apart. For about 20 seconds, both birds landed on the perch, but didn't both sit on the top at the same time as I hoped.

Pretty shot Ian - I particularly like the softness added by the fog and the way the poll 'pops' - very nice image imo :wavey:

Still love the hoar frost on this as much as I did on your last one - almost a monochrome/colour combination image.

I must admit, I prefer the first one if I had to choose, but I would be very pleased with either myself. Excellent shots both of them.

I think this is even better than the previous image Ian even though the female is not as eyecatching as the male bird The crop works better for me.
