If anyone comes across a store here in Oregon that has unclaimed 5D Mark II's, I'd really appreciate a heads up. This may not seem likely, but I have heard some anecdotes that smaller dealers here and there have a few cameras on hand.
Thanks!

Andrew, one other option is to call B&H Photo in NYC 3 or 4 times a day (800-241-6361), they're getting stock in almost daily now. Last night they had the 5D2 w/24-105mm on the website, in stock. It sold out in 42 minutes. However, they also have a store stock they work out of, which is what they pick from when you call. You basically just need to call and nag them (they said to do this), with the hopes of catching them right after the truck arrives. If you stay diligent, you'll get one this week.
Lastly, they're New Yorkers. I was born back there. They like a good haggling fight, almost expect it, so make them ship it free. They may decline at first, but your argument is that you're paying list price, the least they could do is ship it free. They'll bend, just press 'em.

Hey Paul, thanks for the B&H suggestion. I actually managed to order one of the kits from them last night, so hopefully it will be here soon! I would have posted here to let people know they were available, but they sold out right after I got my order in.
For anyone else still looking, NowInStock.net is how I found out that they kits were in stock. I was signed up for their email alerts, and I got a notification from them yesterday. Sounds like there was a bit of a lag, since a got the notice about 5 or 10 minutes before they ran out, but it still helped me get one. Here's the link: http://www.nowinstock.net/digitalcameras/canon5dmarkii/
Anyways, I'm looking forward to having the camera in my hands! Hopefully I'll have some blog posts up about how it handles for photo and video soon.

That's interesting...I've been on Pro Photo's waiting list for a body since September, and I haven't heard a peep out of them.
Anyways, I got a tracking number from B&H so my kit should be here tomorrow
Enjoy your new camera!

Yeah, it does seem like they are easier to find. I'm still very happy to have found one though. A friend is going to buy the lens from me, so for me its the same as if I'd bought a body only.
The kit showed up yesterday. I haven't had a chance to do too much with it yet, but I'm planning to get out and shoot a bunch this weekend.

Yeah, I'm very excited! Can't wait to get out there and shoot with it more this weekend.
