This Robin appeared in my backyard after several hours of rain.

Nikon D80 @ 420 mm, iso 250, f 4.5, 1/200 sec on a tripod.

Lovely soft light in this shot Sandra - nice pose and bg. Great shot of a very well photographed bird.

Cheers,
Chris

Looks a litle bedraggled doesn't he?!

Nice soft light as Chris says so it works for me.

Hi Sandra

Very nice image in what appears to be poor light. Super BG and perch what would have made the image a little better is if the bird had perched a little higher up showing it's outline even better - but that's a very minor nit!

Sandra

A very well executed shot.

Ah ah, great minds think alike! I took a similar shot but my robin looks positively "bedraggled" compared to yours, see attached. Still prepared to pose for his portrait to be taken but only on the garden wall rather than a more natural perch! Cliff

Your Robins doing fine Sandra. Bg and pose just right. :toast:

Touch of snow and you would be well away.

Major.

That's just how i felt after walking the dog today. You did well in what were less than ideal lighting conditions. I like the perch and definately one worth using again in better light.

Looks very subdued in this light - fits with the bedraggledness (if that's a word!)
