After a monitor re-calibration I'm hoping the processing on this image is more accurate than on my previous squirrel postings.
Theis particular animal was very accommodating and allowed me to try a variety of photographic approaches - here a wide-angled lens was used in conjunction with a remote release to show the habitat.
C&C welcomed.
Cheers,
Chris

I like that a lot, different to other red squirrel shots I've seen. Looks great with those tall pines in the background. Only nit for me is that the squirrel is too high on the frame - think I'd crop the oof bit off the bottom. Colour balance looks fine to me.

I agree with Adam, I would crop a bit off the bottom. Other than that a superb picture - your monitor recalibration has worked.

I really like this, maybe agree with others regarding a bit off the bottom, but aside from that it really is a nice shot.

Hi Chris
Minor nits aside a very nice image and monitor recalibration appears to have done the trick!

Nit has been covered and I agree with it - nice image though, and doesn't a blueish element in the sky make all the difference.
Cracking shot Chris. Definitely need to crop the darker strip at bottom of frame (in my opinion) but I'd be delighted with this one.

. . . in response to the nits.
Thanks,

I really like this kind of work Chris and I think you have now got just the right recipe.. just one minor thing that does grab me is the OOF FG on the RHS compared with that on the LHS, the latter of which I prefer.. But nonetheless, it works very well for me and I hope to see more like it..
Kind regards,
Brett

Hi Chris,
I prefer the re-post with a bit of the bottom It's a very well composed and exposed image, different to the normal Red Squirrel shot and a pleasing change.
Thanks for sharing

Different to the normal red images, the inclusion of the pines towering over the animal really give a feel for the environment. Prefer the repost, as the squirrel is positioned better within the frame. Lovely lighting on the animal and the processing looks spot-on.

Very nice indeed, like the low viewpoint looking up at the squirrel which also emphasises the height and slenderness of the trees. Repost hasn't lost this perspective which would be my only worry with cropping off the bottom
