up close!!! (C)
Hi all

I haven't been out and about much lately, which as been driving me crazy!!!

So i had the chance to go visit Vince at the Barn Owl Centre with Tom W and take along some kit which you wouldn't normally use for wildlife.

This is a small crop from the file which i've included, which was also a crop from full frame (about a 75% crop at 72Mb).

The feather detail is amazing and is evan better in the finished Tiff!!

Just shows how good medium format glass can be.

Phase One P45+
Mamiya 645 ADF2
Mamiya 150mm F2.8D lens
ISO 200
1/145sec
F4
Tripod

thanks

Kev

Kevin, as you say the detail is amazing - just goes to show what can be achieved with medium format kit. Thanks, Cliff

Great stuff Kevin. I know the difference, I shoot 6 years on medium format with film.
But: too slow, too short glass, too expencive. The new 5DII is a big challenger for medium format.
It keeps beeing suspenseful.

Hi Kev :wavey:

You must be chuffed to bits with the outcome, detail is simply outstanding especially at that crop factor & with the kit you brought along.

For me, it was a pleasure to be able to with you & Tom W.

That is a stunning amount of detail for a crop of that size. Could possibly have used a touch more depth of field as the corner of the eye looks as if it has dropped focus. It must be superb to use for landscapes.
