Am now accepting suggestions for next year's Weekly Themes in the Challenge Gallery! Please submit your suggestions to me here or via email, and hopefully i can accomodate you. Still lots of time left to submit entries to this weeks challenge (long exposures). Hope to hear some imaginative and fun ideas for themes!

Stan - I don't know if this has ever been done before, but how about nature photos that look like people/animals. For instance, my brother took a photo of a tree trunk where the knots and holes in the truck looked just like a face. This might also include clouds that look like animals, mountain ridges that look like people, etc. What do ya think?

I seem to recall something like this in the themes recently, but there's no rule that it can't be done again! Thanks for the suggestion.

Don't think it's been done (recently, at least), but here's one idea:
It's Not Me - Any experimental photos that don't reflect your typical style.

It'd be pretty open ended, but basically the criteria is that it can be anything that's a big departure from somebody's typical style and subject matter, or in other words, experimental photos.

How about the three primary colors together in nature: red, blue, yellow?

May be repeats, but hear goes:
-Explosions - anything representing some type of explosion, be it a wave crashing on rocks, volcano, patterns that look to emenate from a single source, or anything that might look like some sort of explosion
-Sinuous - images that contain sinuous waves, from s-curves to waves
-Motion - things in motion, birds flying to wind blown grass
-Twilight - images taken between that small window of post-sunset/pre-sunrise twilight

Stan, here's a few suggestions that may have been done before: Natural Gardens (natural images that look like planted gardens); Winding Paths; Dirt Roads; Picturesque Abodes (houses on cliffs, cabins in the woods or mountains, seafront villas, etc); Ice Patterns; Movie Titles (e.g., Joseph Kayne's recently posted "A River Runs Through It"; All Icons; Not So Iconic Icons (subtitled: "A Different Take on the Classics"); Top Ten Viewpoints (an image taken from a place you think belongs in the "Top 10" of views); From the Road (images taken from a point you can drive right up to); Life and Death (both represented in the image); Solitary (images featuring a solitary object); Lunar Landscapes (that is, images with the moon in the image (as opposed to those actually shot on the moon, of which there would probably be too few to do as a WC )). I did not search the archives to see if these have been done before. Sorry. I hope this may give you at least one.

Color green in nature. We were always told "not to mix greens" - like in choosing clothes. However, in nature there are all sorts and shades of green together--and they look fabulous.

I know this is "after the fact" - or, maybe I'm just ahead for next year

How about these: Solitary (singular tree, stark shapes, etc.)
Children/or babies of any species
Black & White with one color allowed (eyes, flag, boat, etc.)
Use of in-camera lens blur
Lighthouses and surroundings
Geometric Shapes in Nature
