I have been very slow in processing my images mainly due to my work pressure and haven't been around the forum much. Sorry about that. I decided to turn this one into B&W outright and see what you guys think about it. this was taken in Sonora pass almost around sunset. the littering glow of the yellow colors had drawn me to this scene. what do you guys think ?

thanks for all the comments and critiques.

Debjit, I like the look here, both angle of view and the light. Truthfully, I have never done any B&W shooting or converting, so I could not offer any suggestions for enhancement or change per se, but, again I like the look overall.
One day I hope I can make the trip back up to the Sonora Pass area for some shooting, but to date it has been just a bit too far to hit more then about every 5 years.

I'm not really a fan of the exaggerated pointing down view from the ultra wides but this is a nice composition. The light tones in the foliage really help create some nice contrasts from the darks.

The composition is well enough and the tones look good to my eye. I just wish the ULC had a little more snap to it. That may have more to do with the wind than any processing though. Other than that, this works for me.

Deb,

While it's usually hard for me to imagine most autumn scenes in b&w, with all the color usually available, but this works quite well. The vibrance of the autumn leaves stand out very well. I think this is a nice composition as well. My only wish would be that there was a little more white-water in the creek to give it more life, but that's just a minor wish.

Glad to see you captured some keepers from the trip.
