Male Stonechat
Canon EOS 1Ds MKII, 600mm f4 IS, 1.4x conv, f8, 1/640, ISO 320, BB on car window ledge.

Hi All,

Another day at the Airfield today, this fella and his missus are coming in very close, to close at times!! Taken this afternoon, when the light wasn't as harsh.

Special moment of the day today goes to a pair of Peregrine who made an unexpected visit to a couple of thousand Wood Pigeons, at first I thought a dog walker had put them up but then saw the Peregrine chasing them, it was a female and she was unsuccefull in her hunt, but she then put an even bigger smile on my face by climbing to join a male (that I hadn't seen) and they started to play and tumble/dive with each other, to see one Peregrine let alone two in the middle of Suffolk hunting arable land is a special occasion.

All comments welcome

Regards

Rob

A lovely shot - and a pair of peregrines as well. If only every day were like that.

Almost perfect image Rob. If I had to mention a minor (and I'm talking a very, very, very minor nit) then I'd try to remove that bit of flower head from below the birds tail. I'd still love to have taken it as it is.

And yet another top shot - you're grinding these out by the bucket load Rob - NICE ONE :wavey: :wavey:

Clarity of detail sharpness and comp are all spot-on imo...

One of my favourite birds as they are such posers. Well captured - lovely light, and sharp in all the right places.
