Hello to everyone,
I've recently emigrated to Portland from Scotland with my wife and two young ones (my wife is from the west coast). I've always been interested in photography but am starting to take it more seriously now and I'm really enjoying the forum here! I'm trying to learn the tools and techniques as quickly as possible (and of course CS3!). I'm looking forward to posting some images and getting the valuable critique that make the forum such a great place to learn and progess. Was wondering if someone could tell me the best way to format a photo for the forum i.e. jpeg but how to reduce the file size sufficiently with minimal impact on the image?
thanks and i look forward to being a part of the community!

Amend the first downsize to read between 1200 and 2000. I find I am between 1600 and 2000 90% of the time. Then just use quality settings. Hope this helps.

Welcome to PNWPN, Andy.
Ditto to Kurt. Second, go to File, Save for Web and Devices, and save your image at just under 200K, the file size limit here and on NPN.

Welcome to beautiful PNW Andy!
I spent 5 great years in Portland (mid 1995 to end of summer 2000). You are so going to love it there. Portland is my favorite city to live!
