This really doesn't do much for me.....it's a little on the blah side

what are your focus points.....is there a main subject!?

Beautiful mist and sunstreaks, and I love the line of rushes. The left side of the frame is a little too vacant and leaves the image unbalanced. The foreground is uncomplimentary to the mystical looking light and atmospheric conditions. So, I think trying various crops that emphasize the notable strengths in the photo would help it a lot.

I would have liked to see more of the interesting stone.

Thanks all for your suggestions. Here's a crop with a slight boost in contrast. Any better?

Yes! Fg is much cleaner, and i think the guys are right about the stone. I dunno, but I think I'd take a little more off the side?

Here's an almost square crop, Catherine. Even better?

I love some of the elements here Joe, and agree that emphasizing them would pay off. My favorite part is the stripe running through the rock. I think it would have been good to pull a Darren and just walk right out into that water to set up with the rock in the lrc (without the branches and leaves that surround it) and the grasses as a background.
