I am new to photography and trying to practice alot. I want to go out and take some pictures featuring vehicles as the subject but I want a interesting backround/foreground.

I have a Nikon D80 with a 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 Lense.

Where is a Good spot to go take some pics like that in or near portland??

Also I will appreciate some advice on some nice landscaping places in or near portland also.

Portland is a fantastic place for the shots you are looking for. Two of the best will be at or around the Hawthorne and Steel bridges. You can catch vehicles with the interesting structure of these old bridges in the background. The Portland MAX train also winds it's way through downtown in the same relative area. Look around Yamhill St. at 2nd Ave. Some compelling shots can be made, particularly this time of year with the Christmas lights up.

Paul, A little more info please. Are you taking photos of specific cars for the owners, or just candid photos that include cars? I am a regular car photographer for the race track at PIR for both the drags, car shows and track races. I won't be able to add more until Sat as I have a craft fair tomorrow.

Nice Picture. I just do it as a Hobby right now mostly for myself and my friends. I would love to do it in other ways if I could.
