...for the Holidays. I spent Thanksgiving with my parents on the edge of the great western New Mexico outback, and the weather was spectacular. Moisture cells moving through daily, dusting of snow on the mountains. Just the thing to begin breaking a creative slump. f/16, 1/15th, 30mm, I think I had a polarizer on.

Thanks to my employer, I just acquired CS4 today. being a poor boy, I had been using freeware, so this is my first image edited with photoshop. I jumped right in and used Tony Kuypers luminosity masks. It's gonna take some getting used to, so feedback is very welcome. In particular, I'm not thrilled with the foreground sharpening for this web version.

I'm gonna have plenty of entertainment for the foreseeable future!

Incredible light here, Jackson. I especially like the highlights below the somber clouds in the distance.

Beautiful light and drama in this one Jackson! I might suggest cropping a bit off the bottom. Is this out towards Magdalena?

Great colors, I actually quite like the foreground, it's such a great offset color-wise to the background.

Thanks guys! Philip I think I'm with you about a bit off the bottom. And yes, this is Magdalena from just north of town.

Beautiful light and capture. I'd also suggest cropping away a bit of the bottom of the image.

Beautiful atmospherics and sweet light - excellent image! Your PS work looks spot-on as well. I do like the foreground light, but agree that a crop would put more emphasis on the stronger part of the image.

Jackson,

So am I lookin' at Hop Canyon just past town? Used to go hiking there a bit when I lived in Socorro. Haven't been back there in ages. Need to get back there and Water Canyon. Good memories of those places!
